Crisis Facing Our Community
Families in our community are buckling under the crushing weight of private school tuition. A family with eight children must cover a mortgage, food, clothing, and the astronomical costs of education and camp, all at once. This relentless pressure isn’t just challenging—it’s tearing families apart.
Parents work multiple jobs and still fall short, leaving them exhausted and less present for their children. Our schools are suffering too: they are underfunded, unable to pay teachers fairly, and forced to add new fees every year. The situation is dire, and immediate, effective action is needed to provide relief.
Our Mission
Our mission is to lift the financial strain crushing families in our community and to safeguard the future of Jewish education. A sustainable endowment fund will provide lasting relief for struggling families, ensure talented teachers are properly valued, and allow children to thrive emotionally, academically, and spiritually.
Parents first negotiate the best possible tuition arrangement with their school. Only afterward does the fund step in to ease the remaining burden, so schools cannot take advantage of the fund by raising prices.

Helps families afford tuition. Parents negotiate the best arrangement with their school, and the fund covers what remains after the school year begins.
$20,000 Annually
Provides bonuses to the teacher of that class, so they feel valued and stay committed to shaping our children’s futures.
This model offers lasting relief for families, recognizes the hard work of educators, and secures the foundation of Jewish education for generations to come.
Our Leadership
I began my career in education at the age of 23, as principal of HaMesivta. After more than 20 years of working with students, particularly struggling teenagers, I’ve learned that a child’s success in school is deeply connected to what’s happening at home.
Our schools work tirelessly to educate and support our children. But when parents are overwhelmed by financial pressure, struggling to pay tuition, and working multiple jobs just to make ends meet, the stress affects the entire family. And our children feel it.
I founded the Crown Heights Tuition Fund because I believe that helping children succeed means supporting their families, too. By easing the burden of tuition, we can help create healthier, more stable homes where children have the opportunity to thrive.
